How is this book structured ? This book is divided into chapters, starting with the basic database concepts and information models in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 covers relational data models. Chapter 3 and 4 explain conceptual modeling and relational database design. In Chapters 5, 6 and 7 the focus is geared towards SQL. Chapter 8 highlights XML data storage and retrieval via SQL and XQuery. Chapter 9 addresses database security aspects. The book then concludes with an overview of various other key technologies and relevant applications that are increasingly popular in the industry today.
